Putting the LEGO SERIOUS PLAY method to work at FRVR

FRVR is a rapidly growing, Portugal based company in the gaming industry. They have a number of LEGO Alumni in the leadership team, including the CPO who is an innovation powerhouse and trained as a facilitator (albeit many years ago).

Thus, the LEGO SERIOUS PLAY method was an obvious choice when it was time to rethink, dare we say rewire, their strategy, and truly bring several new leaders on board: How to navigate a very dynamic market space, and on-boarding simultaneously.

In total, we designed and delivered a two and a half days workshop which was held at a beautiful former manor on the coast outside Lisbon.

The first two days with the top leadership team, including the two founders where the focus was on diagnosis, strategic landscape, and vision, including a bit of playing emergence to stress test and get a better understanding of the full system. This part was facilitated by Per Kristiansen.

On the third day, the group was joined by their direct reports, many of whom had been recruited during Corona lockdown. The full group was split in two teams (at two tables), each with half from the top leadership team, and half from the next layer. Per was join by Joao Barbosa from our close partners in Portugal, Dynargie.

We kicked off with the leadership presenting their LEGO SERIOUS PLAY models of the core identity, and the vision, the latter including a very clear sense of their purpose.

In the video below, (CPO) Daniel Matthiesen shares his reflections on why they chose the LEGO SERIOUS PLAY method, and the results from the workshop

Daniel is also one of the clients who has used LEGO SERIOUS PLAY method a number of times, like Rory O’Connor. Therefore, in a later interview he will reflect on the power of using the method several times.
